Haha, i formatted my computer and now it runs linux redhat 9. Now i've got a powerful computer that doesn't seem to hang. Plus i can power on and off the computer. Um... Other than that i don't know what else to do with it :D
I thought i'll use it to play games, then turn out that windows games can't 'just' run on linux. Apparently there's some module called "winex" that allowed running of windows games, but open-sourced didn't mean it was free :( So my laptop is now a computer that can't do much :(
Luckily i made it dual boot, so i still got around 2Gb of windows 98 to play around, or play games :) why'd i installed linux? um... i have absolutely no idea. but atleast i'm not running any more microsoft products. um... atleast not by default.

There And Back Again
Here i am, back in singapore. It is truly an enriching experience to have gone overseas for these many years. Through the time spent, i've found and lost friends, made and unmade enemies, found and lost a girlfriend, found and lost myself. Yes, found and lost myself indeed. I've grown from aimless to ambitous and now i'm clueless.
Home-coming is a wierd feeling. I think the person who expressed most happiness is the uncle at the duck rice stall. Seeing a hardcore customer like me return home seem to be his utmost joy.
The journey back wasn't that bad. I tore a hole in my pants in the plane lost sleep the night before and found out that the only shoes i have is a broken pair of suede. nice. home-coming is nice.
Now two of my little cousins are surrounding me and amusing themselves with whatever they find. The have so much little laughs and its hard to comprehend what they are laughing about. The wierdest thing is that even as i am typing this paragraph, they are standing there reading me talking about them.
Well, so much for now. Take care.

Football. America call it soccer, the rest of the world call it football. I go along with the world. Australia has footie, sadly, despite spending four years here in australia, i don't know anything about footie. But today's topic is on football, so it doesn't really matter if i don't know anything about footie, the australian 'american football'... you get my drift.
Never in my life have i loved football this much. years have gone by with me knowing nothing about football. david beckam, michael owen etc, they might as well have been posh spice and michael jackson. But watching the recent euro 2004 together with my housemate and a recent series of football management games have seen an increasing fascination in the ball from the bandit camp.
Just a couple hours ago, i've the sudden urge to kick some football in a field, all to submerge in a moment of football glory. But i guess it'll be much longer before i really get to kick some football. its so difficult to find people to kick ball with you these days.
The teams i usually play in football manager games are liverpool, everton and ac milan. Love liverpool coz my housemate is a die-hard liverpool fan. Love everton coz my brother used to support the team. Not sure if i love ac milan, but the club sounds kinda cool. and they've got maldini, whose name is also kinda cool. But never have i played man u, dunno why, juz don't like 'em.
The thing with football manager games is that i can still manage to play them without knowing a single thing about football. Football formations are relevant in the sense that games calculate defense, ball possesion from the formation chosen, and from ball possession, the chances of scoring goals is derived. well, this is the generic formula of most football games though. so it shouldn't come as a surprise that the favorable formation in games is 3-5-2.
But some football games count goal scoring chances by number of strikers. The side effect is that lopsided formations like 1-0-9 works extremely well. But anyone would be crazy to play 9-0-1 formations. Even if such a formation works wonders, i won't play it. to me, defensive football is not that interesting. i'm sure plenty of people who watch real football agree with me.
well so much for football. this is just to say that i love football.
well... football management games that is.

Did, i forget to mentioned that i submitted my project report today? no, i didn't post at all. well i submitted my project report today.
My dear dearest couzin, how 'd you come upon the fateful chicken pox? must be you ate too much kfc and now the chickens are fighting back rite ? lol.
It's funny how people ask me what i'm gonna do first when i get back home. Considering the mode of transportation, unbuckle the aeroplane seat belt duh!? But i guess they really meant what i was gonna to the day after i landed. truthfully, no idea. hopefully, not telling. realistically, boring.
But the few things, not neccessary the first i'd do when i do get back, that are high in priority is getting a hair cut, getting good food, backing up and reformatting my computer, starting an account in hattrick.org, reactivating my singnet acct, getting a sim card, and all the other mundane stuff. neccessary, but boring. so i still wonder why people ask.
The next hardest question people pop to me is what i'm gonna do after study. duh!? "find job, get married, have kids!" there isn't much variation to these basics, :D Maybe they expected something like "apply for xyz job at abc company"? i don't know, but i don't think so.
hmm... but i guess these are just some sort of ritual questions for the a person to show that he/she is concerned. bah, formalities....
Dearest Couzin PS: Do get well soon 'k. And yes, i know that's a ritual sentence, but i mean it... sincerely.
