The new year has come around, note to self : Remember to write "2005" when writing dates... Many people would be hopeful that a new year would bring better fortunes and stuff. Which is one of the reasons why people make new year resolutions. For some, a new year is more than just symbolic, it represents a new working year, bonuses being dished out last month, school restarting etc.
And there are also people like me, or me like people, who live under gray skies and silver linings of clouds. Even as i typed the phrase "silver linings of clouds", i find myself loving it very much. Because it makes a reference to the more popular phrase, "Every dark cloud has a silver lining (or something like that)". And by my implementation, i am using it to indicate that there are many dark clouds in the skies overhead.
Gray skies and dark clouds, yes, this is a sad post isn't it. Even as i type, a single tear streak down my cheek. Not because i'm crying or anything but because i yawned. Funny how yawning brings tears to your eyes. Did you realise how infectious yawning could be? Did you yawn when you read the yawning part? No? YAWN! C'mon, gimme some face here : p
For a large part though, a new year is merely symbolic. A reason for people to feel that better things would come along. To treat the coming days as a fresh start even though it is just another of those days. Yes, i am oozing (dam, i don't know how to spell oozing and i don't feel like checking the dictionary...) pessimism. But its hard to be optimistic when you feel broken and tired...
Okie, maybe i'll try to be optimistic by making my first resolution of the new year
1.) I'll try to be more optimistic and start lying to myself. I'm the king of the hill, lion of the jungle, dragon of the sea, monkey of the heaven (read sun(1) wu(2) kong(1))... okie maybe not monkey of the heaven, but lion of the jungle!! Hear me ROAr.... yawn.
Okie, i'll roar after i get some snooze : p *yawn*
